High Productivity of a Wide Range of Middle and Small Sized Bottles.

Integrating the strengths of the “Hot Parison” 1-Step molding method and the
“Cold Parison” 2-Step molding method, ASB developed the 1.5-Step “Cool Parison” method.
This revolutionary container production system employed by the PF platform gives you
the best of both worlds in one incredibly flexible, efficient and powerful unit.
With its high productivity and excellent cost performance, it can produce bottles of
all conceivable shapes and has the ability to mold bottles with minimal neck support ring.




♦Suitable for Mass Production of Bottles for Water, Edible Oil, Detergent etc.


The PF8-4B machine can mold up to 1.5L bottles with necks up to 38mm while the PF6-2B can mold up to 3L bottles with up to 45mm neck diameter. In all cases, the neck support ring can be reduced to the minimum for more design flexibility and reduced weight. It is even possible to mold lightweight jars where the thread is blow molded and the upper part of the container is trepanned away after molding.



Pursuing Rationality and Economic Efficiency


These 1.5-Step machines use a unique concept that blows bottles twice (PF8-4B) or three times (PF6-2B) during each injection molding cycle meaning that investment cost in blow cavities is reduced. In case of using the same preform, blow molds can simply and rapidly be changed. Since the blow cavities are reduced, and each blow cavity is producing more bottles compared to a conventional system, the total cost of production is reduced dramatically.



High Quality Stable Molding


Machine feedback and setting conditions are displayed on a liquid crystal display incorporated on the operator interface. Up to 8 sets of molding data can be stored internally. Using an optional memory card, additional capacity can be added. Controlling preform temperature profile accurately by the 1.5-Step machine’s excellent re-heat system, it can easily mold bottles which require accurate control of wall thickness, such as ultra-light bottles and carbonated drink bottles.



Rapid Cycle


The preforms remain on the injection cores after the mold has opened, so cooling can continue during mold indexing, resulting in improved injection molding efficiency and shorter overall injection times. Additionally, the improved hydraulic system and electric servo motor function contribute to high production rates of approx. 1,000 to 2,000 bph for the PF6-2B, and 2,000 to 3,200 bph for the PF8-4B.



Space and Energy Saving


The molding concept lends itself to very compact mold design which in turn allows very compact machine design. Smaller clamping platens are lighter and require less energy to move. With the use of highly efficient hydraulic design and low energy variable displacement pumps, energy consumption is far below any comparable output machine.



Neck Orientation (option)


By means of the optional neck orientation system the preform position can be set just before they enter the blow mold allowing the cap position to match the bottle shape. This allows far greater flexibility of design for oval containers such as detergent and toiletries with excellent wall thickness control.



Air Recycling (option)


Using the optional air recycling system, exhausted blow air can be recycled to be used as operation air. Depending on the molded container, the operation air requirement can drop to as low as zero (while molding bottles).
